Founder and Executive Director

Pearl Entrepreneurs Academy (PEA) is a registered environmentally-driven social enterprise founded in 2018 focused on providing rural communities in Uganda with holistic solutions to their economic and social challenges through delivering life-changing clean energy products to under-served markets in last mile communities. Our business product line spans multiple products types including; solar lanterns, low emission cook stoves, and ceramic water filters. Our low-emission products mitigate the release of CO2 and noxious fumes resulting from unsustainable energy usage. We reduce poverty in rural Uganda by reducing financial burden resulting from sudden medical or weekly energy expenditures impacting households. We realize our mission by distributing our products through the “Green Homes Project,” which provides families living on less than $2 a day access to high-quality, affordable, and warranted clean energy products. PEA recruits local women and youth as “Energypreneurs,” who distribute clean energy products straight to customers’ doorsteps and educate consumers about the benefits of clean energy technology. Our innovative approach to distribution facilitates the clean energy transition in underserved communities in Uganda. We are committed to environmental, green housing, health and sustainable living excellence that is integrated with a business‐wide approach to sustainability. In addition to providing a clean energy solutions for rural last mile communities, we provide an alternative to kerosene, firewood, charcoal and contaminated drinking water thus saving our forests, health, income and further mitigate climate change.
