Operations Officer: I am an Operations Officer working for a #1 Social Investment Network in Asia. We focus on Impact Investment, Social Entrepreneurship, Climate, Gender and Education. Educator: I am a Curriculum Developer with 5 years experience in China and Indonesia; Visiting Lecturer in North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering in Langfang, China (2018-2020) and Institute of Governance of Home Affairs in Manado, Indonesia (2017).
What SDGs are you mainly passionate about or active on?
Project and Mini-Training
I am currently working on it. I am initiating “Gerakan Biaro Belajar” (English: Biaro Learning Movement), a 3-month on-site learning program every weekend for youth aged 17-25 years old. My main sponsorship is the Regional Government to fund the volunteered-mentors to travel from the Capital City (Manado) to Biaro Island every weekend. One of the Courses in the Learning Curriculum is to teach “Sustainability Leadership” and to introduce United People Global – with the goal to encourage and promote Biaro youth to take part in international leadership programs like UPG.
This is the project that I pitched when submitting my application for UPGSL2022, which is a “Community-based Eco-Tourism Project on a small island named “Biaro”, that highlights SDGs 13, 4, and 5.
How has becoming a #UPGSustainability Leader impacted you personally?
Being part of the UPG Ecosystem has been one of the great blessings in 2022. The 8-Weeks Learning Journey has led me to have a better understanding and awareness of how important it is in promoting SDGs and to become a Sustainability Leader that provides direction, alignment, commitment, and aim to address social, environmental and economic issues to create a better world as well as sustainable way of living. What’s more, is to be in the circle of like-minded young people who strive for positive changes in their local communities. I got to meet and be connected with these amazing young & talented people coming from all over the world where we got to share our ideas, initiatives and experiences that can be beneficial to our own work as well as possible collaborations in near future. My network has expanded in a huge way that I got to call these friends as family. My very own UPG Family. Lastly, I am always excited to see every mini-event/program by UPG as it helps me to develop my understanding & skills not only in Leadership but also in other sectors depending on the topic discussed, that I believe is beneficial as I am working towards my own initiatives and in my professional career & development.
