#YouthPower Global solidarity

This series is an expression of solidarity from the We Are Restless YouthPower panel, to showcase that although we might be from different corners of the world, we are united in our struggles. They aim to provide honest and unbiased reports ‘on the ground’ to showcase what is happening in communities, countries and wider regions around the world in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another aim of YouthPower is to bring awareness to those that are still in need of help and, in the same vein, to inspire young individuals and activists not to lose hope and hold their governments accountable during this uncertain time.

The initiative is also accompanied by bi-monthly youth solidarity meetups.

How does it work?

The Youth Power Solidarity Meetup is a virtual meetup that is hosted using the conference calling software Zoom. A main host will welcome everyone to the call before splitting participants into breakout rooms to discuss topics like how Covid19 is impacting them, actions taking place in their community, and the impact on existing inequalities.

Who can join?

This event is open to people of all ages and from anywhere in the world. Wherever you are, you are most welcome to join.

How do I join?

Those interested in joining can register for free on Restless Development’s Eventbrite. A Zoom meeting link will then be sent to all registered attendees prior to the event. There is no need to download anything in advance. Once the link is clicked, you will be redirected to the Zoom call and can join the conversation from wherever you are in the world. Hoping to see you at the next meeting and looking forward to hearing your perspectives!
