Training for educators in Africa

During Covid 19 I was inspired to do something for the community and find a way to help. The members of my staff and I, together with two other dedicated women from Dyslexia Help Africa, were the ones who were in charge of organising and kicking off the series of training for teachers.

Over 102 teachers received training on how to utilise mobile apps and programmes to educate children with dyslexia from the convenience of their own homes. The teachers also received instruction on how to use technology to generate educational resources. In addition to training on how to educate children with dyslexia at home, participants in this programme were given instructions on how to teach the course.

Over four instructors who lost their jobs as a direct result of the epidemic have since gained the knowledge and abilities required to teach online and have begun earning a livelihood from their new profession as a result of their new career choice.

At the Covid ’19 conference, there were extra training seminars for parents on how to effectively home-educate their children. These courses were provided by the conference organisers. Throughout the whole conference, several sessions were presented.
