The Kakuma project

As part of our efforts to support refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp, our organization conducted an impactful activity where we distributed reusable face masks to 1800 vulnerable refugees who were unable to afford masks for themselves.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges for refugees, particularly in crowded camps where social distancing is difficult to maintain. To address this pressing issue, our organization took action to provide essential protective gear to those in need.

Through our targeted approach, we identified the most vulnerable refugees in the camp who lacked the means to purchase masks. Our team worked to procure and distribute reusable face masks to these individuals, ensuring that they had access to this critical protective measure.

This initiative had a positive impact on the health and well-being of the refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp, as it helped to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 within the camp. By equipping refugees with reusable face masks, we not only protect their health but also promoted the importance of wearing masks as a preventive measure.
