I am Tesfahun Terefe, hailing from Ethiopia, honoured to serve as a United People Global Sustainability Leader and the Captain of our Community of Champions. While my professional background lies in veterinary science, I consider myself a holistic learner, constantly seeking knowledge beyond the confines of my field. As a member of the Global Coalition for Road Safety, I recently collaborated with my team to introduce the Meaningful Youth Participation module on Yours Academy.
Our endeavour emphasizes the importance of inclusive participation, ensuring that youths from diverse backgrounds have a platform to voice their perspectives and actively engage in decision-making processes. By fostering such inclusivity, we aim to create an environment where every individual’s insights are valued and contribute to a more equitable and representative society.
This initiative introduces an online learning camp tailored for road safety advocates, offering valuable knowledge and certification opportunities through Yours Academy. With four modules available for trainees, participants have the chance to enhance their understanding of road safety principles. Moreover, there are awards accessible for those aspiring to become trainers and advocates of safe road practices, further expanding the reach and impact of our collective efforts.
