I initiated a transformative program called the Climate Change Mitigation Club, aimed at mobilizing secondary school students to become proactive change-makers and contribute to a safer world.
My vision extends beyond these initial efforts—I aspire to see this program implemented in all schools across my country. It is my fervent belief that stakeholders should recognize climate action as a fundamental subject to be integrated into school curricula nationwide. In pursuit of this goal, I am diligently working on nurturing a nursery where I cultivate seedlings for future projects, particularly targeting rural areas surrounding our community.
Through this initiative, I successfully engaged more than 200 students from ten selected secondary schools, providing them with comprehensive lessons on environmental issues and the impacts of climate change. Our dedicated “Environmental Week” sessions became a platform for students to deepen their understanding and present their insights on these critical topics.
As the term progressed, students were tasked with nurturing seedlings and planting them in areas where they were most needed. To incentivize their efforts, we introduced awards to recognize the best-grown trees, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment among participants. This holistic approach not only raises awareness but also instils a sense of responsibility and stewardship towards our environment among the youth, paving the way for a greener and more sustainable future.\
