As a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, two million children have been forced to flee their homes and interrupt their education to ensure their safety. The United Nations predicts that there will be another wave of immigration in the near future, with many of these individuals being mothers and their children.
Ukrainian students can no longer continue their studies, hiding in basements, moving from one place to another, and always worrying about the war. This is not the life that a child should have! In addition to living in a safe place, every child must have the possibility to access education to gain knowledge. This is what we believe in at the Let’s Shake Hands charity organization. We strive to help Ukrainian children affected by war adapt to their new life abroad.
We believe that one way to do this is through connecting Ukrainian kids with youngsters from different countries who can assist them with school studies. The Let’s Shake Hands community helps Ukrainian children in learning a foreign language of the country where they were forced to move to, as well as to adapt there.
Also, our mentors help kids to solve their educational needs and integrate the acquired knowledge into a new school life. And the most important part of the project is the opportunity to communicate with peers, which brings some light into the lives of Ukrainian children and gets them away from the negative aspects of a refugee’s life.

Our organization also strives to support mentors in developing skills such as communication, time management, and creative thinking. We plan to organize various master classes, live streams with professionals, and many other useful events for mentors soon. Our global aim is to help not only Ukrainian refugee children, but young people all around the world to get the necessary free knowledge at a convenient time.
