Sunday, November 28, 2021, the Sunan Kalijaga UIN Islamic Community Development Study Program held an Expo on Campus Circle Empowerment with Gajahwong Riverbank Residents. The Engagement of Gajahwong Citizen Empowerment was facilitated by PMI Study Program and Zakat Collection Unit UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
We provided training to the mothers of the Gajahwong Riverbank residents in various skills. Hydroponic training, making laundry soap and candles from used cooking oil, and knitting are among them. The purposes of the entrepreneurship training were to:
1. Develop interest and motivation in the community to enter the world of entrepreneurship,
2. Develop knowledge and skills in the development of business governance, production, marketing and business partnership networks, and
3. Develop the ability of young entrepreneurs in efforts to start thriving businesses
In general, this training aimed to generate entrepreneurial motivation, help people find business ideas, and design a business plan. Because the empowerment of medium, small and micro businesses is vital for the economy, developing these micro businesses requires an economical and futuristic approach. Therefore, we also teach digitalization of micro-business as the next important step for micro-business development.
