Teachers as First Responders

In 2021, we launched a virtual program with the goal of empowering teachers with basic life skills to enable them to act as first responders in the classroom during emergencies, before the arrival of health professionals. The program was facilitated by an experienced Emergency Intensive Care Unit nurse, who provided training on preventive and corrective measures to handle classroom-related emergencies over a span of two days.

In collaboration with TeacherX Project, an organization that promotes teacher empowerment, we recognized and rewarded teachers with badges upon completion of the program, acknowledging their dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of their students in the classroom.

Building on the success of 2021, in 2022 we focused on raising awareness among teachers about becoming first responders to their own well-being, particularly in managing mental health emergencies. Recognizing that teachers face unique challenges in their roles as educators, this program aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage their mental health and well-being in the classroom setting.
