The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to a quarantine where it is not possible to go to public places, educational, work, recreational, sports or social areas. It is recommended that the entire population practice social distancing, at least 2 meters away from people to avoid contagion. What happens when you don’t have a home? What if you don’t have water to wash your hands? What if you don’t have 2 meters to distance yourself?
The absence of decent housing, overcrowding and lack of basic services is a reality for millions of Latin American families. For this reason, at TECHO we work to support the most vulnerable families in the face of COVID-19. We have decided to collaborate with public health in this phase of containing the spread of the virus in the region, emphasizing the important and priority accompaniment of the more than 500 communities with which we work.
