#SupportFromHome

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to a quarantine where it is not possible to go to public places, educational, work, recreational, sports or social areas. It is recommended that the entire population practice social distancing, at least 2 meters away from people to avoid contagion. What happens when  you don’t have a home? What if you don’t have water to wash your hands? What if you don’t have 2 meters to distance yourself?

In regions like Latin America, where more than 185 million people living in poverty and 104 million people living in popular settlements, the epidemic could cause a catastrophy.

The absence of decent housing, overcrowding and lack of basic services is a reality for millions of Latin American families. For this reason, at TECHO we work to support the most vulnerable families in the face of COVID-19. We have decided to collaborate with public health in this phase of containing the spread of the virus in the region, emphasizing the important and priority accompaniment of the more than 500 communities with which we work.

From Europe we can make a difference. We launched an emergency campaign to support Techo to raise funds to help reduce the vulnerability of settlements to the COVID-19 crisis. The proceeds of our fundraising campaign will be used to buy food and essential products for the most affected and priority areas of the different countries.
