There are more than three million drug users in Afghanistan. Men, women, and children are all included in the abovementioned number since they are at risk of a direct threat to their safety and health. Over the course of a large area, I propose establishing six to eight large camps. People in need of treatment will be dispersed throughout the several camps in an effort to provide them with a sense of community and give them a chance to focus on making positive changes in their life without being tempted by drugs. I firmly believe these individuals possess the resources necessary to effect meaningful change in their lives and build brighter tomorrows.
Some of them, I feel, have the training and expertise to make big things happen, such as engineers, journalists, and translators (both English and Russian). They’ve fallen to the lowest levels of society because of their drug usage and the negative reputation it’s earned them. Our goal is to help these individuals overcome their drug usage and become productive members of society. I do this by planning activities and inviting drug addicts to the camp. There is a medical clinic, a training facility, a park, a gym, and a manufacturing facility where we produce goods like clothing and medicine.
In theory, the camp’s welcoming atmosphere will make members feel more at ease and encourage them to work toward the camp’s stated objective of becoming better members of society. Activities at the centre take varying amounts of time to complete. We give health care programmes for six months to a year, during which they are managed as if they were regular individuals, spending two or three hours on education and learning, five or six hours on work, and the rest of the day at the Gym Park. This is something I think might assist the government in reaching its long-term health objective and cutting down on drug use.
