Tililenji: A Beacon of Hope in Zambia, Promoting SDG3: Good Health and Well-being

Tililenji, a native Zambian word meaning “what we should cry for,” poignantly reflects the challenges faced by many communities in the country. However, the Tililenji Foundation, a small but impactful non-profit organization, is working to transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and empowerment. By focusing on SDG3: Good Health and Well-being, specifically Target 3.1: Maternal Health, Tililenji aims to reduce maternal mortality rates and combat the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, by 2030.

As a dedicated volunteer with Tililenji, I participated in a crucial initiative aimed at raising awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) within Zambian communities. Through informative sessions and engaging discussions, we empowered individuals with knowledge about critical health issues, including family planning, safe sex practices, and the importance of seeking professional healthcare.

This initiative was more than just an educational program; it was a powerful step towards creating a healthier and more equitable future for Zambian communities. By empowering individuals with knowledge and promoting community health, Tililenji is contributing to a significant shift towards better health outcomes for all.
