AKRSP Gilgit recently organized an insightful workshop on maternal health and child nutrition, a critical area with long-term implications for the well-being of future generations, highlighting the significance of child nutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life—a period that plays a pivotal role in shaping a child’s overall health and development.
Participants explored the importance of proper maternal care and early childhood nutrition through engaging discussions and expert-led sessions. The first 1,000 days, from conception to a child’s second birthday, were emphasized as a window of opportunity to lay the foundation for lifelong health.
The sessions exposed the impact of nutrition on cognitive development, physical growth, and disease prevention. Equipping caregivers with knowledge and practical strategies addresses the challenges that hinder optimal child health.
Participants left empowered with practical recommendations to improve dietary practices and ensure better health outcomes for mothers and children.
