November 7 Initiative; Fight Against Hunger

As a consequence of war, climate change, and the COVID-19 epidemic, we live in a world devastated by poverty and hunger, where about 10% of the global population is already undernourished and an additional 150 million people are anticipated to be malnourished by 2022.

A huge proportion of the world’s hungry resides in developing nations, where poverty and restricted food availability lead to widespread malnutrition and mortality. As the most vulnerable members of society, women and children are considered to be far worst.

Although numerous attempts are being made to combat poverty and hunger, more than a billion people throughout the world are now living in terrible poverty. Hunger and malnutrition remain among the world’s most severe issues, particularly among children and adolescents.

My name is Madalitso Kaliati. I am a UPG CHAMPION from Malawi, and my friends and I are forming a group called November 7 Initiative. My personal background prompted this endeavour. My father died when I was nine years old, and my mother was unwell at the time, rendering her unable to manage or support us.

This forced my siblings and me to struggle. Despite these challenges, we have grown up dedicated workers and excelled academically but not many out there will be able to do the same. My tale has made me reflect on my neighbourhood and the comparable difficulties that children face.

As a result, I thought of the November 7 Initiative, a project aimed at ensuring the well-being of children aged 3 to 15. Our current endeavours include providing meals on weekends through their educational journey. Currently, funding is scarce, so we utilize what little we can raise to support the children.

You may participate in this campaign by providing financial support or contributing your voice to assist us to raise awareness so that we can all work together to eradicate hunger. Contact us today via email: madatitania@gmail.com
