Recently, I had the privilege of conducting a mini-training session at an underprivileged school within our community, introducing students to the inspiring mission of United People Globals (UPG). We delved into the four pillars of UPG and explored the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on gender equality.
A key highlight of the session was the introduction of my project, “Empower Together,” a mobile application designed to challenge gender stereotypes and empower young people in Bangladesh. This innovative app provides access to a wealth of information on diverse career paths, showcasing successful women in traditionally male-dominated fields. Furthermore, “Empower Together” offers valuable career guidance and mentorship, helping students make informed decisions about their future.
By breaking down gender barriers in career choices, “Empower Together” aims to create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of gender. This initiative aligns perfectly with the broader goals of the SDGs, particularly SDG 5: Gender Equality.
This experience reaffirmed my belief in the power of education to drive positive social change. By empowering young minds with knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and promoting gender equality, we can create a brighter future for all.
