Empowering Girls in Nigeria on Menstrual Hygiene Day

This year, as the world unites to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day under the powerful theme “Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld,” Inuka Foundation was proud to play our part right here in Nigeria. We believe every girl deserves to manage her menstruation with dignity, safety, and confidence, without it ever being a barrier to her education or health.

As a tangible step towards this vision, we were delighted to distribute sanitary pads to girls in schools across our communities. This activity is more than just providing essential supplies; it’s a vital component of our ongoing commitment to promoting menstrual hygiene. For many girls, access to sanitary products and accurate information about menstruation remains a significant challenge, leading to missed school days, discomfort, and even health risks. Our initiative directly addresses these critical issues.

At Inuka Foundation, we are dedicated to creating a truly supportive environment where girls feel empowered to embrace their periods naturally and confidently. By ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed, we are actively working to break down stigmas, reduce period poverty, and ultimately ensure that no girl is held back from accessing her fundamental right to education and overall well-being simply because she is menstruating.
