As a UPG Sustainability Leadership Candidate 2024, I embarked on a journey of personal and professional growth. Through the UPG Mini Training program, I discovered a profound sense of purpose – to educate and empower others. This transformative experience culminated in my training colleagues at Olive Heights School in Shabu Community, Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
The training proved to be a resounding success, with 26 educators gaining valuable insights into the UPG Four Pillars of Sustainability, Innovation, Collaboration, and Social Impact. We engaged in insightful discussions on how to integrate these principles into their teaching practices and foster a more holistic and impactful learning environment for their students.
The training also included an interactive session focused on improving the quality of education within the school and the wider community. We explored strategies for creating more inclusive and engaging learning environments, fostering critical thinking skills, and empowering students to become active citizens and agents of change.
The UPG Mini Training program has proven to be a powerful catalyst for change. Through these impactful sessions, numerous individuals have been enlightened and inspired to take action in their communities. By empowering educators and fostering a culture of continuous learning, we can collectively work towards creating a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
