In partnership with the Cameroon Association for Medical Laboratory Science (CAMELS), I recently spearheaded a successful campaign to combat the alarming rise of gender-based violence in Mutengene town, located in the southwest region of Cameroon. This initiative aimed to raise awareness, empower community members, and foster a culture of respect and equality.
Recognizing the urgent need for action, we initiated the campaign with a comprehensive community mobilization effort. Through community meetings and awareness-raising sessions, we engaged local leaders, youth groups, and community members in open discussions about the root causes of gender-based violence and its devastating consequences.
The campaign culminated in a significant conference that brought together key stakeholders from the community. The conference provided a platform for open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the development of a comprehensive action plan to address gender-based violence.
The success of this campaign was a testament to the collective effort of the community. I was honored to receive a certificate of excellence in recognition of my contributions to this important initiative. This recognition serves as a reminder of the power of community engagement and the importance of working together to create a more just and equitable society.
