Cultivating Change: Empowering Women Farmers in Luvu Community, Nigeria

In the heart of Luvu Community, Nasarawa State, Nigeria, a remarkable initiative is underway to address the critical issue of food security. Spearheaded by Ademiku Adeleye, a passionate young volunteer, and supported by the renowned NGO, Leap Africa, this “Agro-Allied Community Development” project is empowering women farmers with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.

Through collaborative efforts with the National Youth Service Corps, Ademiku and his peers are reaching out to 60 women farmers, providing them with essential agricultural training and resources. This impactful project has already yielded significant results, leading to a remarkable 40% improvement in the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices within the Luvu Community.

This impactful initiative has garnered significant recognition, including coverage by the National Television Association (NTA). It serves as a powerful example of how collaborative efforts between NGOs, youth volunteers, and local communities can drive meaningful change and contribute to a more food-secure and prosperous Nigeria.
