Yerevan Zoo is home to more than just animals; it’s a haven for creativity and artistic expression. We recently had the privilege of working alongside a talented local artist who generously gifted the zoo with three magnificent hay sculptures. However, the recent period of unusually heavy rains in Armenia has taken its toll, causing significant damage to these captivating creations.
Together with a fellow zoo volunteer, we embarked on a mission to restore these cherished hay sculptures to their former glory. It was a labour of love, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for the artist’s vision. We carefully cleaned and repaired the damaged structures, ensuring their continued safety and enjoyment for zoo visitors.
These hay sculptures are more than just artistic creations; they serve as unique and engaging educational tools for visitors of all ages. They spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and provide a deeper connection to the natural world.
This experience reaffirmed our commitment to preserving the beauty and enriching the visitor experience at Yerevan Zoo. It was a rewarding reminder of the power of collaboration, creativity, and community support in bringing joy and wonder to our surroundings.
