It is widely acknowledged that global warming is producing more serious problems. Climate and weather conditions are being severely impacted. However, we must recognise the efforts of many individuals who have made it their mission to not only fight but also educate others about the risks of global warming. Climatic-Smart Agriculture is one of the approaches developed to manage and address the rapidly changing climate conditions while also ensuring food security.
Also known as CSA, Climate-Smart Agriculture was first mentioned by the World Bank in 2009, and the organisation has since become the most prominent proponent of the concept. In addition to being hailed as a key mechanism for achieving the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate-Smart Agriculture also plays a prominent role in the Bank’s ambitious Africa Climate Business Plan, which forecasts a decade-long programme of social and infrastructural transformation. Without a shadow of a doubt, Climate-Smart Agriculture is a vital resource for building a sustainable future.
KAUSHALYA Foundation is involved in promoting climate-smart agricultural practices in the state of Bihar and Jharkhand in India. It has been implementing projects for the last 12 years in small and rural states so that farmers can adopt climate-smart and efficient agriculture for better income and livelihood. It has also installed the solar irrigation system and solar dal mills in rural villages of Bihar, India.
