During Mental Health Awareness Month, I organized a meaningful mental health outreach at the bustling Lawanson Car Park in Lagos, Nigeria. This initiative brought vital mental health education and resources directly to the heart of the community, targeting a diverse audience of bus drivers, conductors, traders, and commuters.
Our team engaged participants in open conversations about stress management, coping strategies, and the importance of seeking help when needed, while also addressing the stigma surrounding mental health. By providing counseling and distributing resources, we empowered individuals to prioritize their well-being and fostered a supportive environment in a space often overlooked for such interventions.
This outreach underscores my commitment to SDG 3—Good Health and Well-being, bridging the gap between underserved communities and essential mental health services, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
