One of my most rewarding experiences was conducting a mini-training session at an underprivileged school within my community. This initiative aimed to introduce young minds to the concept of global citizenship and inspire them to become agents of change.
The session began with an introduction to United People Globals (UPG) and its core pillars, emphasizing the importance of community development and social impact. We then delved into the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing specifically on gender equality. By understanding the challenges faced by women and girls worldwide, these young students began to grasp the importance of advocating for a more equitable and inclusive society.
To further inspire the students, I shared my own project, “Empower Together.” This innovative mobile application aims to break down gender stereotypes in career choices for Bangladeshi students. By providing access to information on diverse career paths, showcasing successful women in male-dominated fields and vice-versa, and connecting students with mentors, “Empower Together” empowers young people to pursue their dreams without limitations.
Our vision for “Empower Together” is to create a world where gender equality is a reality, where individuals are free to pursue their passions and achieve their full potential, regardless of societal expectations based on gender. By empowering young people with knowledge and inspiring them to become agents of change, we can create a brighter future for all.
